サルファ剤とトリメトプリムの合剤でST合剤と呼ばれ、サルファ剤は微生物の葉酸生合成を阻害し、トリメトプリムは葉酸の活性化を阻害し、相乗的な抗菌作用を示します。

元来、人間用の薬ですが、犬・猫の有効な感染症治療薬として獣医師によく使われている薬です。

スルファメトキサゾールとトリメトプリム（SMZ / TMP）の混合錠剤は、スルホンアミドの組み合わせで、主に犬や猫の呼吸器、尿路、皮膚、または胃腸の感染症などの症状の治療に使用されます。

犬と猫の幅広い細菌感染に対して非常に効果的です。

含有成分：スルファメトキサゾール400mg

トリメトプリム：80mg

（使用法）

1日1回投与

注意：13mg/0.453502kgを目安に初期投与段階では12時間おきに2回に分けて投与。

その後の投与量は経過を見ながら適宜増減して投与します。投与適性量は獣医師の指示に従って下さい。

<使用上の注意＞

・妊娠中または授乳中の動物には使用しないでください。

・投与時と投与後はペットが飲むために十分な水を残してください。

・異常な副作用が見られた場合は、直ちに投与を中止、獣医師の指示に従って下さい。

・当薬剤や、他のサルファ剤にアレルギー反応を示す動物には使用しないで下さい。

Sulfamethoxadole and Trimethoprim Tablets Double Strength is a prescription medication that is not FDA-approved for veterinary use; but it is commonly accepted practice for veterinarians to prescribe this medication for dogs and cats. Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim Tablets Double Strength are available as scored tablets. The usual initial dose for dogs and cats is 13mg/pound every 24 hours, which may be divided into two doses given 12 hours apart. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. Do not give Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim Tablets Double Strength to any pet other than the pet for whom it was prescribed. Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim Tablets Double Strength is not for use in animals allergic to it or other sulfa drugs.
